top soil for my borders?

can anybody advise on the best type of top soil or compost to use when making new raised borders?

If you are building from scratch then do try to go for a ready mixed if you can - it will save you so much hassle in the long run!

I recently bought a ready mixed soil and compost and it saved me so much time and effort - longer to enjoy the fruits of my labour!
